In 2020, Esha Verma — the stepdaughter of television actress Rupali Ganguly — made headlines with serious accusations, alleging that Rupali played a role in the collapse of her parents’ marriage. Esha claimed that Ganguly had once visited their home in New Jersey and even slept in the bed her parents shared. Now, Esha has broken down in tears on Instagram, sharing that she has faced harsh judgment and intense scrutiny for speaking out about Rupali.
On Wednesday, an emotional Esha uploaded a video and said, “Some days you can be okay and some days you are a complete wreck. You get scrutinised for wanting to speak up and you also get questioned, ‘Where the f**k did you go?’ When you have your own family, who wants to destroy you for just trying to live her life? I tried to be happy but we don’t talk about these things." She added, “There are f**king crazy ass people who want to indulge in the drama."

In the video, she embedded, “Thank you to everyone who’s stood by me, listened, and rooted for me through all of this. I’m working on moving forward—but this was my fight, and it was my right to speak on it. I was a “nepo baby" kept in the shadows. I grew up with silence, confusion, and pain that wasn’t mine to carry. When the truth came out — unexpectedly and loudly — I was the one blamed. I was scared. I was unprotected. And instead of being supported, I was shamed. But after months of harassment, I’m standing my ground. Everything I’ve shared has been intentional. It’s never been for attention — only to reclaim my story and begin again."
What Is Rupali Ganguly And Esha Verma’s Feud All About?
The controversy erupted last year after an old 2020 post from Esha resurfaced on social media, and went viral. In the post Esha made serious allegations against Rupali Ganguly, accusing her of breaking Ashwin K Verma’s earlier marriage. She also alleged that Rupali would threaten Esha and her mother. The matter quickly grabbed media attention, post which Ashwin issued a statement, clarifying that Rupali had nothing to do with his divorce.
Esha also claimed physical, mental and verbal abuse at the hands of Rupali. Following these accusations, Rupali Ganguly slapped Esha Verma with a legal notice for defamation, demanding a compensation of Rs 50 crore for allegedly maligning her character.
Esha Verma, the daughter of Ashwin and Sapna Verma, currently resides in the United States. Ashwin and Rupali are parents to a son named Rudransh.
